John's Homemade Pickles

Equipment

  • 1 Quart Jar

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Water (Hot)
  • 1 cup White Vinegar
  • 4-6 Mini Cucumbers (Cut into spears)
  • 1-2 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 tbsp Dill Weed
  • 2 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Whole Black Peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder

Instructions

  • Combine water, vinegar, salt, and sugar in your jar. Mix until salt and sugar are dissolved.
  • Allow mixture to cool down to room temp.
  • Add in the remaining ingredients. Empty a little of the liquid in the jar to accommodate the cucumbers if needed.
  • Cover and place in the refrigerator.
  • Allow the pickle mixture to sit in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours before eating.

Notes

Pickles should hold in the refrigerator for 4-6 weeks, although, they may not make it that long.
